Float Hybrid Creates Interactive Soccer Vending Machine for Pepsi #FutbolNow Campaign
Soccer's World Cup, one of the most-watched sporting events in the world, is set to kick off in just over a month, and Pepsi today kicked off a new interactive digital signage vending experience for football (soccer to us here in the U.S.) fans around the world.
Combining interactive digital signage and gamification, the new Pepsi #FUTBOLNOW Interactive Vending Machine combines motion-sensor technology to issue a challenge to fans from the 2014 Pepsi all-star football squad — Robin van Persie, David Luiz, Sergio Ramos, Sergio Agüero, Jack Wilshere and four-time player of the year Leo Messi — to move like the pros and show off their style to be rewarded with a free Pepsi.
Throughout the interactive experience, fans are encouraged to keep the virtual football in the air for 30 seconds as they move through a series of skills challenges, according to the announcement from Pepsi. Their animated avatar on the vending machine's digital signage screen mimics their every move, collecting points toward free sodas and more. Advanced players can earn bonus time and vie for "Hall of Fame" recognition at each location, according to Pepsi.
The limited-edition machines are the latest piece of engaging content to be released from Pepsi as part of its 2014 football campaign, which kicked off in January, the soda giant said in its announcement.
